Whether it's for a week of activities, an escorted tour, a few days learning a craft or a weekend bed and breakfast; whatever you're looking for you can find it here at Wimbles! Our farm and lake are set in 20 acres within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty providing plenty of space and opportunity for watching a wide variety of nature. Come and escape to the country for a restful retreat and explore our rich meadowland with donkeys, sheep, pigs, miniature ponies and chickens. For those looking to find total seclusion for writing or meditation, we have a separate straw eco lodge overlooking the lake. All food we provide is either grown in our vegetable garden and orchard, or by Hank, who runs the local farm shop, and grazes his animals on the farm. It is not unusual for us to provide a completely home produced meal. Our fish is fresh caught from local boats launched from the beach at Eastbourne. We aim to provide Organic produce where possible, and avoid excessive food miles. Our environmental beliefs and self sufficient life style have always followed permaculture and ecological principals diversifying into this small sustainable tourism business. We use eco-friendly cleaning and washing products and minimise our carbon footprint by composting waste, reducing energy consumption and re-cycling, even ash from the wood-burner is used as a pottery glaze! |
